About Us
Hi and welcome to the web site and blog of the Kapiti Coast Photographic Society Inc. (KCPS).
We used to be the Waikanae Camera Club and changed our name in 2007 to include the wider geographic coverage of the whole Kapiti Coast. We have taken the opportunity to upgrade our activities and programmes to match our new name and to provide the best environment for new and budding photographers and to challenge our more experienced exponents.
KCPS looks to engage members in an interactive and socially rewarding environment built around the pursuit of knowledge and experience in photography. It doesn’t matter here if you are interested in pinhole photography, large format, film, digital formats or you just like viewing good photographs – we probably have someone in the organization who knows something about it and would be interested in learning more with you.
Meetings
Club meetings are twice a month from February to November. We meet on the second and fourth Mondays at 7:30 pm in the Otaihanga Boating Club rooms, at 19 Makora Road, Otaihanga.
Development Sessions are held on the first Monday of every month from March to November, in the same venue. These are aimed at all levels, from novices to experienced photographers, to help with learning and improving basic skills, and advanced, covering topics such as post-processing.
For full details of the upcoming programme, just check out the Events calendar, or click on “Events” in the top menu.
You are invited to have a look through our website, check out our upcoming Events and if interested in joining us, come along to one of our meetings, or contact us.
