The 2022 Frank Hinchcliff salon was held on 11th July. The competition is for prints only and commemorates a founder member of the Waikanae Camera Club that was a forebear of the Kapiti Coast Photographic Society.
We were lucky enough to have John Boyd FPNZ APSNZ as judge, and he provided some great feedback and commentary on the seventeen prints submitted by ten different photographers. These comments are available in the members-only area of this site.
John selected three images as highly recommended:
- “Agapanthus Buds” by Eva Petro (top right of Print Set 2 below)
- “Ocean Wanderer” by Roger Smith (second row, left had side of Print Set 1)
- “Wabi Sabi – Beauty in Imperfection” by Shona Jaray (bottom row middle image of Print Set 1)
Runner up was “Feed me…feed me” by Roger Smith (bottom left of Print Set 2).
But this year’s Frank Hinchcliff Trophy Winner was “Sunset Fishing” by Neil Gordon (third row, right hand image of Print Set 1).
