Great summary and photos from PSNZ of Day 2 of the Convention. Julieanne Kost is proving to be a real treat – a very entertaining and informative communicator, as well as an excellent photographer.

≈ Comments Off on Tabletop Photography on Monday Night
The KCPS meeting on Monday 9 March will be something a little different – a workshop format on tabletop photography. Several members are bringing examples of tabletop photography to demonstrate, and for you then to have a go. Below are some examples of what will be on offer. Bring your camera; tripods could also be useful. More details have been emailed to all members.
And don’t forget to enter the KCPS Summer Salon online by 5 pm on Monday, then bring any prints along in an envelope together with a printout of the email acknowledgement you receive.

≈ Comments Off on PSNZ New Zealand Camera
Congratulations to six of our club members who were accepted into the PSNZ New Zealand Camera book which will be published in April. Scott Stevenson, Shona Jaray, Jo Goudsbloom, Gavin Klee, Alison Viskovic and myself, well done everyone you have made our club very proud and we cant wait to see a copy of the book.
Just reminding everyone that our next meet up is tomorrow at Clive Taylor’s in Raumati, 2pm. If you would like more information please head over to our meetup.com page HERE.
We would love to see you there, entry $5pp.
In the latest copy if the D-Photo Magazine (Feb-Mar, p90) is a fantastic write up about the Kapiti Coast Photographic Society thanks to some careful planning by Alison, there is also a showcase of some our top images from 2014. So what are you waiting for? Hop into your nearest book store and grab yourself a copy, it’s well worth the read.
Last but not least, the formal programme for KCPS will kick off on Monday 9 February at 7:30 pm, with a talk by Carol Molineux on ““Recent Journeys into the Arctic Regions of Svalbard and Iceland”. She has some great images from a unique area that few get the opportunity to visit. Not to be missed.
We are also looking forward to welcoming some new members to the club.

Hi everyone.
A reminder that you can always found out the latest details of our upcoming programme and events at https://kcps.org.nz/events/
The year is already off to a good start with several meetups. (Thanks to Rachel Stevens for organising these!) I managed to get to the first one at Pukerua Bay (along with around twenty other photographers). There’s lots of photos posted – have a look.
The next meetup is on Sunday 8 February – “Welcome to Taylorville” – check out all the details here, and come along and join us.

Entries for the first salon for the year are due on 9 March. Please note that the Committee has decided to change the format this year, so that the first three salons will include set themes as well as open images. The updated rules for the 2015 competition can be downloaded here.
For the Summer Salon, you can enter one open digital image, and one on the theme of “Let’s Make Music“. For prints, you can enter one open print and one on the theme of “Intimate Moments“. Make use of this gorgeous summer weather to get out and about to make images on these themes – which also correspond to two of the topics for the Wellington Interclub print battle later in the year. So we are hoping that this will result in a good selection of images to choose from for that.
Finally – there’s an exhibition of work by Yvonne Todd at the City Gallery in Wellington until 1 March that may be of interest. Check out http://www.citygallery.org.nz/exhibitions/yvonne-todd-creamy-psychology .
