Submissions close on 25th February for digital entries and prints are to be handed in at the meeting of the 26th February.

This year the Interclub Print Battle was hosted by Johnsonville Camera Club and took place on 19 October at the Johnsonville Community Centre.

Topics this year were:

5. Night Life in the City
6. Long Exposure
7. Photojournalism
8. Sporting Action
9. B/W Landscape in the Style of Walker Evans
10. Quote: “There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the heaven”.

It was closely contested all the way, but in the end KCPS emerged victorious only 2 points ahead of our closest rivals. Results and points awarded for each topic are shown below, followed by KCPS entries in the same order.

This year our annual ceremony was held at Hungarian restaurant Anzil in Paraparaumu. Presentations for the winners and runners up for overall salon results were followed by the Best of Year competition judged by Bruce Girdwood.

The highlight of the evening was the Best of Year competition, where members submit their best images of the four salons in the Digital and Print categories for comment, feedback and ranking by the judge.

Recent KCPS activities and achievements include entries in three PSNZ inter club competitions and the awarding of PSNZ honours.

KCPS was awarded second place in the Bowron Landscape competition with images from Greg Whitfield, Jacky Challis, Shona Jaray and Graham Lonsdale. Many thanks to Jacky Challis and Kelly Munro for contributions to the selection process.

This year thanks go to Eva Petro, Caroline Ludford and Ian Yeoman for compiling our entry to the Wiltshire Digital Image Cup. Images provided by Eva, Greg, Ian and Jenny Setchell.

Having won the Trenna Packer last year, and despite a very strong entry comprising images from Carol Molineux, Gavin Klee, Rhonda Billington and Jim Embury, KCPS didn’t make it into the top three. Thanks to Carol, Gavin and Rhonda for putting together the club entry:
